Now Offering Dementia Live® Education & Training Opportunities

We are proud to announce that ameriCARE Fort Mill is now Dementia Live® certified, and we currently have 3 certified Dementia Live® coaches on our team.

Dementia Live® is an experiential dementia sensitivity training program developed by AGE-u-cate® Training Institute that helps participants better understand the sensory, emotional, and cognitive challenges individuals living with dementia may experience every day.

As part of our ongoing commitment to quality, person-centered care, each ameriCARE caregiver will also participate in the Dementia Live® experience to help deepen empathy, communication, and understanding when caring for clients living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

In addition to supporting our own caregivers, we are excited to offer Dementia Live® educational opportunities to healthcare organizations, community partners, caregivers, and families throughout our community. Many training opportunities may also qualify for CEUs.

At ameriCARE Fort Mill, we believe education and collaboration are essential to improving the experience of individuals living with dementia and the families who support them. We would love the opportunity to partner with your organization for future trainings, workshops, or community education events.

Thank you for all you do to support our community.

Understanding
Alzheimer’s CARE

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. As the most common form of dementia, it gradually impairs a person’s ability to perform everyday tasks, leading to significant challenges for both individuals and their families.

Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s involves addressing a range of complex and evolving needs. People with the disease may struggle with memory lapses, mood swings, and a reduced ability to communicate effectively.

The unpredictability of Alzheimer’s can also create emotional and physical strain for family CAREgivers, who must balance their loved one’s needs with their own well-being.
