Personalized Veteran Care Backed by Local Resources

At ameriCARE Greater Richmond, it’s our honor and responsibility to serve those who’ve served our country. As a Veteran-friendly homecare provider, we’re proud to offer personalized, non-medical Veteran care options to support the everyday needs of local Veterans and their families. If your loved one needs companionship, personal care, or assistance with daily living activities, our team is here with one mission: to provide compassionate care with dignity and respect.

Richmond is home to a vibrant Veteran population, with thousands of retired service members and their families residing here. Our area offers a robust Veteran support infrastructure, yet many Veterans still require in-home assistance to maintain their independence and quality of life. That’s where ameriCARE steps in.

We specialize in three key types of Veteran care services in Greater Richmond:

  • Personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, mobility support, and more.
  • Respite care for family caregivers who need trusted support.
  • Companionship care to combat isolation and loneliness, issues many Veterans face post-service.

A Region Built to
Serve Veterans

Our familiarity with the Greater Richmond area extends beyond our service capabilities: our team members live in, work in, and give back to this community every day. We’re deeply aware of the unique needs of local Veterans.

Home to several major Veteran service organizations and two of the region's most trusted VA healthcare facilities, Greater Richmond has built a strong foundation for Veteran support. However, not every Veteran wants or needs to leave their home to receive care.

That’s why ameriCARE’s in-home support fills a critical gap. Our team is close by and ready to serve, providing local, reliable, and dignified non-medical Veteran home health care services. Beyond providing essential care, we also partner with local Veteran advocacy groups and participate in community events to stand with Veterans, offering companionship and continuity in a way only a local provider can.

Veteran Living Assistance
That Extends Beyond the Home

Our ameriCARE Greater Richmond caregivers are specially trained to support Veterans’ unique emotional, physical, and logistical needs. Whether it’s helping with post-surgical recovery, providing transportation to local VA appointments, or supporting routines for those with mobility challenges, we create personalized care plans tailored to each client’s goals.

Our Veteran care services include:

  • Meal preparation and medication reminders
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Companionship for those navigating isolation
  • Support for those living with PTSD or physical limitations
  • Assistance coordinating with VA resources and community programs

We also offer respite care for family caregivers because we know that a Veteran’s support system can often use assistance as well.
