Did you know that the US Department of Veteran Affairs, also known as the VA, offers a wide range of healthCARE benefits to active and veteran service members? These benefits include coverage for non-medical in-home CARE and respite CARE to help family CAREgivers!
At ameriCARE Texas, we’ve made it our mission to truly understand the ins and outs of the VA benefits systems. We’ve helped several of our local veterans through the benefits process in order to get the referrals and approval they need to cover their in-home CARE costs. We are happy to help you get started!

“It was a beautiful experience, with a lot of incredible storytelling and creating a lot of personal connections.”
This year, our Executive Chairman, Dr. Rohith Saravanan had the unique pleasure of joining the Permian Basin Honor Flight as an attending physician. To ensure the best CARE and safest trip possible, Dr. Saravanan conducted pre-flight health checks to clear each participant for the trip. He also worked with the Honor Flight staff to evaluate each stop to find the safest routes and to limit fall hazards. As the attending physician during the trip, Dr. Saravanan and three volunteer nurses provided medical support and personalized attention throughout the flight. The CARE team also carried complete medical files on each patient in the event of an emergency.
We are so grateful ameriCARE Texas could participate in such an amazing journey and we are eternally grateful to all the service men and women who have dedicated their lives to the safety and security of our nation!
At ameriCARE Texas, we have worked hard to understand the needs of our veterans. We respect and appreciate their willingness to serve our country and seek to provide the best CARE possible. Whether returning from combat with new health or mobility challenges, or reaching old age and needing additional help, our team is here to provide dignified, respectful CARE.
Together, we can help our veterans stay happier@home while leading independent, meaningful lives.
Today, many of our Veterans are vulnerable to a variety of issues that can impact their quality of life. These include:

A recent study published in the National Library of Medicine on malnutrition among older Veterans in home-based primary CARE found that 15% were malnourished.

According to the National Center for PTSD, up to 23% of Veterans suffer from the disorder at some point in their life. The emergence of PTSD symptoms in late life (after retirement age) has been noted to correlate with the onset of dementia.

Older Veterans are far more likely than non-Veterans to report experiencing two or more chronic conditions.
Because we know these complications can make life more difficult for Veterans and their families, our in-home CARE services for Veterans work to address them.

Our agency owners go above and beyond in helping Veterans access their benefits or determine their eligibility. This significant service, offered by most of our franchises, ensures that veterans can navigate the complexities of their entitlements with ease and confidence. We are committed to honoring our Veterans by providing compassionate CARE and expert assistance, helping them achieve a better quality of life.
Our CARE team provides support for Veterans in the following areas:

Bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and other personal hygiene tasks can be difficult to manage due to age or chronic illness. Our compassionate CAREgivers are trained to provide these services with respect and dignity.

Our CAREgivers can help prepare meals, shop for groceries, monitor dietary restrictions, and provide assistance in promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Keeping a clean home isn’t just about hygiene; it also encourages comfort and peace of mind. Our CAREgivers can assist with any daily household chores to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming house.

Our CAREgivers will encourage your loved one to move more safely. Whether it’s a walk up and down the driveway or assistance with physical therapy exercises, our CAREgivers can help your loved one stay active.

If driving is difficult for you or your Veteran loved one, our CAREgivers can assist with tasks like grocery shopping, medication pick-up, maintaining personal appointments, and more.

We can accompany our clients to their medical appointments to help them navigate any information or instructions provided by their doctor.

Our CAREgivers approach engagement through gentle and positive encouragement. We facilitate meaningful activities to help our clients socialize, share their thoughts, and build meaningful relationships with their CAREgivers.

Managing age, disability, or injury means often dealing with complex medication schedules and dosages. We’ll make sure you or your Veteran loved one will take the appropriate amount of medication right when they need it.

Our CAREgivers are proactive in preventing harmful falls or other injuries by maintaining a clean environment, removing tripping hazards, helping our clients with mobility, and keeping the environment as safe as possible.

Our CARE services can include pet CARE, such as dog walking, feeding, transportation, assistance with vet appointments, pet hygiene, and other services to keep both owner and pet happy and healthy.

At ameriCARE Texas, we understand that family CAREgivers play a crucial role in the support systems of our veterans and we want to support you, too. In fact, we have close ties to our service men and women! Local owner of ameriCARE Texas – Weatherford, Robert Ybarra, served in the armed forces, along with his father. We recognize and respect the unique needs of our veterans and believe in providing dignified, thoughtful CARE to enhance their daily lives.
As a family CAREgiver, your health and wellbeing manner, and we want to help you balance your CARE responsibilities so you can rest and recharge. Our CAREgivers are trained to provide the same level of detailed CARE your loved one has come to expect. Let’s take CARE of them together.
