Discover the Difference That Family-Inspired Home Care Makes

Home Care in Frisco, TX

If your parents are anything like ours, they've poured their hearts into creating a better life for you and their community. Now that they're in their golden years, they deserve to relax and savor the fruits of their labor.

However, as our loved ones age, the need for extra support around the home becomes evident, whether it's preparing meals or managing medications. When they can no longer care for themselves as they once did, worries about their safety and well-being arise. It's natural to think about their quality of life and how you can give back to them while balancing your own responsibilities.

Most seniors -94%, according to Forbes- prefer to remain in their homes as they age. If the senior in your life wants to stay at home as they get older, what's the best way to make that happen? For many families, non-medical home care offers a compassionate and affordable solution. In-home care is quickly becoming the first choice for older seniors because it supports your family while allowing your loved one to age gracefully in the familiar, safe surroundings they're used to.

If you're committed to keeping your mom, dad, or senior relative safe and happy at home, working with a home care agency might be the best way to achieve that goal.

When is the Right Time to Consider Home Care in Frisco, TX?

When it comes to maintaining good senior health, early intervention is often key. Unfortunately, many adults with senior parents are stretched too thin to notice signs that their mom or dad needs help around the house. Wondering whether you really need to consider home care for you, your parents, or your loved ones? Keep these warning signs in mind.

Consistent Forgetfulness

As men and women get older, it's perfectly natural for them to have some aspects of mental decline. Age-related memory loss doesn't affect everyone, but when it involves your loved one, it can be a lot to digest. When forgetfulness begins to impact your parents' quality of life, it's time to take action.

Commonly referred to as mild cognitive impairment (MCI), this forgetfulness often arises from reduced blood flow to the brain, a phenomenon frequently associated with aging. Other contributing factors can include typical neural lapses and a decline in hippocampal function, which is a crucial area of the brain responsible for memory. These changes can lead to frustrating side effects, such as

  • Missing or Forgetting Appointments and Outings
  • Misplaced Items Like Glasses, Car Keys, Cooking Utensils, Etc.
  • Getting People's Names Wrong, Such as Confusing a Granddaughter with a Daughter
  • Forgetting Conversation Topics
  • Struggling to Make a Point in a Conversation
How Does In-Home Care in Frisco, TX Help with Forgetfulness?

Seniors showing any of these signs can greatly benefit from non-medical home care providers who can help them with their daily tasks. This support can include reminding them of scheduled appointments, preparing meals, light housekeeping, and assisting with reading and other essential activities. Professional caregivers can also incorporate healthy memory practices into your loved one's daily routine. Strategies may include social interaction, engaging in simple strategy games, maintaining a nutritious diet, and participating in light exercises like slow walks around the block.

Trouble Completing Daily Living Activities

As your parents or senior loved ones get older, they often have trouble completing dayto-day tasks that are fundamental to living a normal life. There are several activities of daily living, or ADLs, that senior citizens struggle with and include

  • Bathing or Showering
  • Getting Dressed
  • Going to the Bathroom
  • Eating Healthy Meals
  • Trouble Getting Around the Home
How Does Non-Medical Home Care Help with Seniors Struggling with ADLs?

A reliable caregiver from a trusted senior care agency in Frisco, TX, can help make daily life much easier for your elder relative. If they have trouble putting on or tying their shoes, your caregiver is there to help them choose their shoes and put them on correctly.

If your senior citizen isn't eating healthy food, your caregiver can help create a nutritious meal plan and assist them in preparing the food they need for energy and daily activities. When searching for a home care agency, make sure they offer tailored care plans that address your loved one's needs, not someone who has similar issues.

  • More Noticeable and Predominant Memory Impairment
  • Trouble with Finances and Traveling to Unfamiliar Places
  • Forgetting Significant Pieces of Information

Yet another Taylor Sheridan show will be set and filmed in North Texas, Variety reported.

FRISCO, Texas — Frisco has been the epicenter of suburban growth in North Texas over the last decade. Now, a national audience will get a look at the sprawling Collin County city.

"Frisco King" is Taylor Sheridan's newest show in the works, according to Variety, which confirmed the "Tulsa King" spinoff starring Samuel L. Jackson.

In case you're catching up, this marks another North Texas-set and/or filmed Sheridan show, including "Yellowstone" and prequel "1883, "Landman," "The Madison," "Lioness" and the in-production "Rio Palo," another "Yellowstone" spinoff.

"Frisco King" will be a spinoff of Sheridan's Sylvester Stallone-starring "Tulsa King," except with Jackson in the lead role, according to Variety.

Production starts next month, and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram has reported at least one of the filming locations: The Tarrant County courthouse. It's not yet clear where "Frisco King" will actually film in Frisco.

For the Sheridan fans not from North Texas, Frisco, about 30 miles north of Downtown Dallas, has exploded in growth over the last 25 years, as the Dallas North Tollway inched northward. With the population boom brought a spate of new high schools, the Dallas Cowboys' practice facility ("The Star"), the new PGA Frisco golf course and headquarters and dozens of other businesses and jobs.

And now, apparently, it has brought Taylor Sheridan, who will write all eight episodes of the first season, according to the Variety report.

A release date for "Frisco King" has not been announced just yet.

Sheridan remains busy. Just last week, "Lioness," starring Nicole Kidman, filmed scenes at Del Frisco's in Downtown Fort Worth, and the show was also filming in Uptown Dallas earlier this year. Sheridan's "Landman," which was filmed all over Fort Worth, released its second season late last year and has consistently been among the top-streamed shows in the U.S.

FRISCO, Texas — Universal Kids Resort in Frisco is looking for North Texans who want to be the next Shrek and Fiona, the next SpongeBob and Patrick and even the next Kevin the Minion.

The new theme park, which is targeted toward young children and their families, is expected to open later this year off Panther Creek Parkway in Frisco. It will feature seven different lands featuring characters from Universal's most popular movies and TV shows, WFAA previously reported.

In a signal that the opening of the park is growing ever-closer, the park announced it is hiring and holding auditions for open positions.

"The resort is looking for team players who want to help create those unforgettable memories for families while prioritizing safety and enhancing the community," the park said in a press release.

Perks of the job include benefits for part- and full-time workers, complimentary tickets, recognition programs, plus discounts on merchandise, food, and stays at the Universal Kids Resort Hotel, the release states.

Universal is holding virtual auditions for actors, costumed characters and performers, officials said. Those who audition must be older than 18 and submit this interest form. Callbacks will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 9 and 11.

The park is also hiring for a variety of hourly positions, which are open to anyone 16 years or older, the release states.

"The team is looking for energetic, enthusiastic talent ready to help create unforgettable experiences for guests," the release states.

Locals will soon have the chance to be cast

Frisco is about to take center stage. With filming set to begin later this month, the newly announced Paramount+ series Frisco King is bringing Hollywood attention — and production crews — directly into the city’s streets, neighborhoods and identity.

According to Mayor Jeff Cheney, the show’s creators want Frisco itself to be more than just a backdrop. They want it to be a character.

Following a meeting with producers, Cheney shared new details about the highly anticipated series, offering residents their first real glimpse into what the Taylor Sheridan–written spinoff will actually look like, and how often locals can expect to see cameras rolling around town.

A Story Set In Frisco

Frisco King, a spinoff of the Paramount+ hit Tulsa King, stars Samuel L. Jackson and comes from Yellowstone universe creator Taylor Sheridan, who is personally writing all eight episodes of the first season. Cheney described the premise as a comedic culture clash with a distinctly North Texas twist.

“The premise of the show is a ‘fish out of water’ comedy where Jackson’s character gives up his NOLA roots to start a fresh life in a modern-day Mayberry,” Cheney said. “The Stallone character tells him it needs to be Frisco — San Francisco? No, Frisco, Texas — and here’s your golf polo to fit in.”

Originally developed under the title NOLA King and set in New Orleans, the project underwent a major creative pivot before Paramount+ officially relocated the story to North Texas. While Louisiana may still appear briefly, Frisco will now serve as the heart of the narrative.

The move deepens Sheridan’s already strong ties to Texas-based storytelling, reinforcing the regional identity that has defined many of his most successful productions.

Filming Will Be Visible Around Town

While much of the day-to-day filming will take place in nearby Fort Worth, Frisco residents should still expect regular on-location shoots.

“The first three episodes have been written and they start filming later this month,” Cheney said. “They estimated they will need one to two days for each episode in Frisco, on top of the B-roll for the city they will capture upfront. So you will be seeing them around town fairly often over the coming months.”

That means recognizable landmarks, streetscapes and local settings could soon appear on screens worldwide when the series premieres exclusively on Paramount+.

According to producers, the city will be portrayed positively — something Cheney emphasized as a priority discussed during their meeting.

“They did say they would be portraying Frisco in a positive light, and Frisco is one of the ‘characters’ in the show that the community will be proud of,” he said.

Opportunities For Local Talent

Beyond visibility, the production could also open doors for residents interested in the film industry. Cheney said producers plan to hire heavily from local communities, with a strong emphasis on regional casting.

“Generally, 70% of their casts are locals,” he said. “They agreed to have a separate talent page for Frisco residents looking for their big break or just a background cameo.”

Producers also noted a preference for hiring veterans as part of the cast and background talent — an element city leaders say aligns well with Frisco’s community values. The city plans to share additional details as casting opportunities become available.

A Growing Win For North Texas Film

The arrival of Frisco King represents another milestone for North Texas’ expanding film and television industry. With production based between Frisco and Fort Worth and Sheridan fully steering the creative direction, the project positions the region as an increasingly attractive destination for large-scale streaming productions.

The series stars Samuel L. Jackson, is written entirely by Sheridan, and will stream exclusively on Paramount+. Filming begins in late March 2026.

“We welcome the entire Frisco King team to our community and look forward to them showing it off through their lens,” he said.

For Cheney, the excitement goes beyond celebrity sightings or economic impact. It’s about how the city will be seen by audiences around the world.

FRISCO, Texas — On a scale of one to 10, most people would give ice cream a 10. But a new ice cream spot in North Texas is on a scale of its own.

It’s called Kelvin Scale, a nod to the scientific temperature scale that starts at absolute zero. That’s the reason it calls itself ‘absolute ice cream.’

“We offer the best ice cream, the freshest ice cream,” said Kelvin Scale owner Sundeep Bande.

Kelvin Scale started in India, where it’s incredibly popular. It’s so popular that Bande wanted to bring it to the United States and opened the very first American location in Frisco.

“We found that there’s a gap,” Bande said.

Bande said many things set Kelvin Scale ice cream apart. First, everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients, whether it’s the milk, fruit, or high quality chocolate.

The milk used in Kelvin Scale’s product is A2 milk, which some people claim is easier to digest.

Kelvin Scale also doesn’t add much air to its ice cream, a common practice in the industry. Therefore, Bande said, its ice cream is denser with more product in each bite.

“It’s a lot creamier, a lot more fulfilling,” he said.

Kelvin Scale has a rotation of 70 unique flavors like banana Biscoff, custard apple, or popcorn, with new flavors added regularly.

Bande said these small but important details make Kelvin Scale the cream of the crop.

“Everyone should try our ice cream, and they will feel a difference,” he said.
